What is ChinChin?

Small golden-fried cookie bites born in African kitchens — called chin chin in West Africa, les croquettes or les merveilles across francophone African countries. Beloved at parties, holidays, and tea time. Slightly sweet, gently spiced, and made for sharing. Outside: crunch. Inside: a soft, buttery middle. Once you start, it's almost impossible to stop.

Made with love by Jovie

Jovie has been making ChinChin since long before the kitchen-table operation moved into a real production schedule. The recipe came from her grandmother, who served it at every Christmas and every birthday and every quiet afternoon when somebody dropped by for tea.

Today she fries every batch herself in Austin, packs every tub by hand, and ships them to whoever misses the taste of home — or wants to taste it for the first time.

"Every tub is the recipe my grandma made every Christmas."

Questions, answered

  • How long does shipping take?

We ship within the United States and most orders arrive in 3–7 business days from the day we put them in the post.

  • How long does ChinChin stay fresh?

Sealed, the tub keeps its crunch for up to 4 weeks. Once you open it, transfer to an airtight container — and try not to finish it in one sitting.

  • Are there allergens I should know about?

Our ChinChin contains wheat, dairy (butter), and eggs. It's made in a kitchen that handles tree nuts. Reach out if you need details before ordering.

  • Can I order in bulk?

Absolutely — bulk and gift orders are welcome. Mention them in your order request and we'll work out pricing and shipping together.

  • Can you ship outside the US?

Right now we ship within the US only. International shipping is on the roadmap.

  • Can I customize a gift order?

Yes — include a note in your order request with the recipient's address and any message you'd like included with the tubs.

  • Do you have other flavors planned?

We're working on it. Drop a note in the order form if you'd like us to keep you posted on new flavors.
